Be Italian

Ok fine, I'm not actually Italian, but trying... There are a few things going for me already: big family, love of carbs, currently living in Tuscan villa, Rosetta Stone, some real Italian friends, and best of all, local woman teaching me her family's traditional recipes for the next two months. SCORE! So it is decided, focus on the food - with a personal interest in cooking and entertaining, and basic skills in the kitchen I want to learn to make fresh pasta, pizza, gnocchi, lasagna, raviolis, and tiramisu. I haven't actually meet my teacher, but so far this is what I am invisioning!

While I enjoy eating and drinking like a fat girl, I'm not the biggest fan of looking like one. There for the gym will be my new best friend :( The whole Atkins no carb plan is really just not going to work here so I am going with the whole Weight Watchers, less is more theory. Believe it or not I am expecting to loose weight over this adventure... encouragement invited, progress report to come.

Fingers Crossed

It may be biting off more than I can chew, but i have the idea that before leaving Italy I will have VERY BASIC abilities in speaking and understanding the language. Honestly, it sounds harder than the whole loosing weight idea, Rosetta Stone has been in my possession for over two months and I have completed about five hours of lessons...... those of you who have actualy mastered other languages are most likely laughing at this point but hey.... never underestimate a fat girl's desire!

The reason I can't focus on learning Italian
