Glass of Vino

So last night my boyfriend and I went to diner at the local ristorante, shared a litre of vino della casa (6 euros might I add) , an antipasto, ravioli in a cream sauce, and finally each indulged in our own grilled rabbit. I know, don't hate me, I ate the bunny, and ohhhh was it just so tasty! I actually want to cook my own :) HA! The entire experience was over two hours and we ate rather light compared to the group of Italian men next to us (totally fat girls at heart) that had course after course brought to the table. Needless to say, too many calories were consumed.

Sorry

The sweet, slightly intoxicating, grape juice we shared over the meal got me thinking about just how important wine is when cooking, especially in Italy. So I have taken it upon myself to do some more investigation in this area, trying many wines, both red and white. You may feel obliged to join in on this research, and that, I fully support.

Collection of wines in the villa... STARTING POINT

In the gardens here, there is a few rows of grapes growing. Tried one today and they are just about ripe, yummmm. However, most of these will most likely escape fermentation, what a shame.

Maybe I'll get creative and make jam!

Meet with Carla today, the all knowing chef that will bestow her secrets on to me, she is friendly, and we will definitely get along well together. She also wants to push me to speak with her in Italian only, impossible at this point, but at least she's encouraging. First lesson, Monday at 11:00am, fresh fettuccine with a mushroom tomato sauce! Wish me luck
