Down to the beach we go! Most Italians are on holiday so the promenade along the coast is bustling with sun bathing beauties, cyclist, and families enjoying free time. The beaches in Europe including Viareggio, are all "private beaches," set up with loungers and umbrellas with a set fee for the day. There are some small areas of very crowded public beach, but to enjoy a lazy day where lunch is served to your chair, the cocktails come with ice, and you don't have to schlep the towels and things from home I suggest paying the fee.

Dinner time starts late in the area, and most people you see in the restaurants before 8pm are foreigners. Our meal begins with bread and wine for the table, and once again contains several courses...... perfect for sampling a little of everything :) A gigantic bowl of small sweet mussels, Frito Misto (fried calamari, shrimp, fish, and veggies) and finally a spicy pepperoni pizza!

muuuuhhhhhahahaaaaaa
Annnnnnndddddd, because everything was shared, there was room for GELATO! Yippppeeeeee, Stracciatella (Chocolate chip) as a treat for the trip back home.

Ciao
